Zhongmin Zhao

A national leader in bioinformatics and precision medicine. Unique interdisciplinary training experience in human population genetics (PhD and MS), computer science (MS), biomathematics (MS), genetics (MS), and bioinformatics (Post-doc); More than 20 years of experience in genomics, systems biology, molecular epidemiology, and complex disease studies; Recent interest in translational bioinformatics and precision medicine; More than 275 publications; PI of more than 20 grants; Participation in numerous center or program grants; More than 10 years of teaching experience in bioinformatics and systems biology; Multiple years of service in functional genomics shared resource and other bioinformatics cores; Abundant administrative experience in medical center; Abundant experience in next-generation sequencing data analysis and translational science. His lab is the first at Vanderbilt that was able to analyze the whole genome sequencing data.
