Sonny Vu, CEO of Misfit Wearables. Previously, he has started and built companies most of my life and have been co-founder of Elemental Machines (life science, machine learning), Misfit (wearables; acquired by Fossil Group for $260m), AgaMatrix (diabetes, digital health), and FireSpout (natural language processing, machine learning; acquired by Ask Jeeves). Before doing startups, he worked at Microsoft Research in NLP under Kai-Fu Lee, worked on a PhD in Linguistics at MIT under Noam Chomsky, and studied Math & Linguistics at UIUC. Love finding scientific breakthroughs and when possible, investing in and helping founders build companies based on them.
