国际糖尿病联合会（IDF）是一个由全球170个国家和地区的240多个糖尿病协会成员构成的伞状组织，代表着越来越多糖尿病患者和那些高危人群者的利益。自1950年以来，IDF一直是全球糖尿病界的领导者。IDF的使命是促进糖尿病的护理、预防和全球性的治疗。IDF的国家糖尿病协会分为七个区域：非洲、欧洲、中东和北非、北美和加勒比地区、南美和中美洲、东南亚和西太平洋，目的是促进各个国家糖尿病协会的工作并加强它们之间的合作。IDF每两年在世界各地举办一次世界大会，从1952年在荷兰莱顿举行的第一次大会到最近在2017年在阿布扎比举办的大会，与会人数已经从几百名增长到12,000余名代表。

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) World Congress 2019 in Busan, Korea.
IDF 2019 in Busan will provide a unique forum for knowledge exchange and sharing of best practice in diabetes prevention, education and treatment. The outcomes of the Congress will help foster the collaborations, connections and political actions required to place diabetes on top of the global health agenda and improve the lives of people living with diabetes, help protect those at risk and reduce the impact of diabetes on our societies.
The IDF 2019 scientific programme will will deliver 160 hours of scientific sessions, 300 speakers and 1000 posters, over 3 and a half days. With innovative and interactive sessions, the programme will provide top quality presentations from high-level speakers. Spreading knowledge to healthcare professionals in all fields of diabetes and at all experience levels, IDF 2019 will improve healthcare practice and enhance the lives of people with diabetes.

(1) This reduced rate is available for healthcare professionals other than medical doctors.This reduced rate is also available for medical doctors of 35 years or younger at the time of the congress. Applicants for this rate must provide a copy of their ID/passport (for young doctors) and professional ID (for healthcare professionals).
(2) This reduced rate is available for participants who are students at the time of the congress. This rate is not applicable to persons holding a post-doctorate degree. Applicants for the student rate must provide a copy of their valid student ID.
(3) This reduced rate is available for participants who are citizens AND residents of a low-income economy as per World Bank classification.
