It is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the ISN Frontiers Meeting 2019 taking place in Gothenburg, Sweden on October 3 to 6, 2019. The meeting focuses on CPR - Cardio-Pulmonary-Renal Interactions and their Interdependence in Disease’. The 2019 ISN Frontiers meeting focuses on topics that have overlapping interests across the three specialties: nephrology, cardiology and respiratory medicine and aims for the first time to bring the study and understanding of the three organs’ systems together in terms of the epidemiology, physiology, pathophysiology, their inter-connections and therapeutics, with the kidney being the ‘centerpiece’ linking the three organs. ISN Frontiers Gothenburg 2019 is a cross-disciplinary meeting bringing together clinicians, scientists and epidemiologists working in nephrology, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine.

Cardio-renal syndrome describes and classifies the various interrelationships between the heart and the kidneys. However, the link between diseases involving the heart, the lungs, and the kidneys requires investigation to unravel potentially novel and common pathophysiological mechanisms. Through a better understanding of the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms linking the kidneys, heart, and lungs, ISN Frontiers Gothenburg 2019 hopes to shift the disease paradigm to identify new disease pathways, and potentially novel treatment targets for more effective therapies in renal disease, and its frequent cardiac and pulmonary co-morbidities.
