薄膜领域最具影响力的国际会议“ThinFilms2014”将于2014年7月15号-18号在重庆召开。此次国际会议是由国际薄膜协会主办,重庆大学材料科学与工程学院会议承办的薄膜领域盛会。“ThinFilms2014”国际会议是国际薄膜协会ThinFilm系列会议的第7届,大会主席为国际薄膜领域的著名学者新加坡南洋理工大学的张善勇教授。此次会议的主题涵盖了薄膜领域的前沿和热点问题,包括:Biological Coatings、Coatings for Clean Energy、Coating towards Industrial Applications、Electrochemistry of Thin Films、Functional Ceramic Thin Films、Mechanical Properties of Thin Films、Nanostructured and Nanocomposite Films and Coatings、Organic/Polymer Thin Films、Photocatalysis and Self-Cleaning Coatings、Smart Materials and Films。预计将有来自十几个国家的600-700位学者参会。

Biological coatings (BCT) | Biological coatings actually create appropriate interfaces between bioimplants (or medical devices) and living tissue. Such coatings or interafces should either exhibit desirable biological properties, e.g., biocompatibility, bioactivity, haemocompatibility, antibacterial ability and etc., or improved intrinsic properties, such as wear-, corrosion-, and fatigue-resistance. Coatings for clean energy (CCE) | The purpose of this symposium is to provide an international forum for discussion and exchange of ideas on the up-to-date research and development of advanced thin film processes and materials for clean energy production. The participants from various industries, universities, and research laboratories are welcome to submit papers to discuss recent advances, developments, field applications, and future challenges for producing clean energy using thin film technologies. Major topics include every kind of thin films used in the applications of solar cells, photochemistry, hydrogen production and storage, fuel cells, etc. Papers on recent development in the plasmon-enhanced processes is extremely welcome. Oxide Thin Film, Nano- and Heterostructures (OFN) | Oxide films, nano and heterostructures are in the focus of advanced materials research because of their unique properties and multifunctional behaviour. Sessions focusing on electronic, solar control and chromogenic coatings, photocatalytic water splitting, sensing and photovoltaic applications are envisioned. Contributions on anisotropic structures such as nanowires, rods, tubes and fibers of simple and doped-metal oxides and heterostructures are of special interest are also welcomed. Submissions should address innovative and environmental friendly approaches to processing of metal oxide structures as well as industrial applications of functional thin films. Photocatalysis and Photo-activated Functional Coatings (PSC) | Photogenerated catalysis is behind a lot of innovative engineering applications. It involves uses of photocatlystic materials to create electron?ole pairs, which generate free radicals able to undergo secondary reactions. Thin films and coatings with photocatalytic materials as constituents exhibit, upon interaction with light, extraordinary oxidation and hydrophilic properties. Such photocatalytic properties are being employed in realizing various functions, including but not limited to self-cleaning, (maintaining surface cleanliness without human intervention), antifouling, anti-bacterial, water disinfection, and decomposition of polyaromatic hydrocarbons in environment engineering.
